For the cantonal building insurance companies (KGV), the prevention of natural hazards is central. It reduces future claims and secures low premiums in the long term. Digitization and digital transformation are opening up opportunities to make prevention even more efficient.

In this project we have developed the basis for the development of a data strategy for prevention with the aim of supporting prevention and the corporate goals of the KGV.

We have worked out how data can be systematically collected and used, which data sources are available and which potentials can be used. Aspects of data protection were also highlighted and ways were shown of how data can be used while observing strict data protection. The basics developed here can also be applied in other sectors.
