In this project, a generic probabilistic model was developed to determine risks due to rockfall on protective galleries. The model was implemented in Microsoft Excel © and allows location and object-specific parameters to be taken into account in the analysis.
The risk model is based on Bayesian networks, which are used to calculate risk to people and property. The failure probability of the gallery is also calculated explicitly.
