In this project, a practically applicable concept for bridge managers was proposed. This should help in deciding whether monitoring systems (SHM) for observing damage bring added value. For this purpose, the information value of the monitoring system is determined and evaluated as to whether the knowledge gained justifies the costs for a monitoring system.

In order to optimize the use of resources, the decision-making process for maintenance and repair issues can be supported by monitoring. The final report on the project was here released.
