In this project, probabilistic crack growth calculations and probabilistic fracture mechanics calculations using failure assessment diagrams were carried out for a platform in the North Sea.
The failure probability of individual existing cracks was calculated and compared to the target failure probability. On this basis, recommendations for action could be made and the safety of existing cracks could be demonstrated.
