It has been shown that classic reliability methods based purely on data analysis are not suitable for the space industry. Not least due to the constant development of innovative materials, little or no data is available and can be generated. The goal of this project is the development of new methods to determine the reliability of mechanical components and systems. For this purpose, methods of classical reliability and static inference calculation (structural reliability) are combined. The applicability of the new methods is shown at the component level and at the system level using a realistic case study.
