On the basis of large-scale tests on a replica rockfall protection gallery with different covering materials, the load-bearing and deformation behavior of the gallery up to the point of collapse was examined. As soon as the dynamic models developed at the IBK were verified with large-scale tests, probabilistic calculations could be carried out. The vulnerability of a gallery is examined with the defined dimensioning concept. The goal is to identify important parameters of covered galleries related to the failure probability and to estimate the model uncertainties.
