Using data provided by the KfV, a model for predicting accident rates on a defined stretch of motorway was developed. The model was developed on the basis of an innovative concept and is to be understood as a prototype that offers potential for more precise prediction and more flexible application in other areas as well. The investigations are of high scientific value, since comparable models are not yet available.
