Strowin is a software framework for creating digital twins of wind turbines with a focus on reliability-based inspection (RBI). It enables engineers to integrate components, measurement data, and models in a consistent environment and use them for structural and risk-based analyses.

The focus is on the probabilistic assessment of structural reliability and the development of optimized inspection strategies based on Bayesian decision theory. The combination of crack growth and inspection models (e.g., PoD) and the continuous updating of condition information precisely maps the temporal evolution of the failure probability of critical hotspots. Based on this, Strowin adaptively plans inspection measures and ensures that defined reliability levels are maintained.

The graph-based architecture links all elements of the digital twin, from equipment and data to analytics, transparently and flexibly. This enables Strowin to make scalable, data-driven decisions and supports operators in optimizing inspections, targeted risk management, and efficient lifetime management.

An online version of Strowin RBI is available at inspection.matrisk.com available and allows the interactive creation and analysis of simple inspection plans in the browser.
