As part of a renovation, pitting was found on the reinforcing bars during the repair work on the existing magnesia sulfate screed. The probability of failure for punching shear (model of SIA 262/rev.) taking into account corrosion (pitting and general corrosion) was calculated and evaluated. The assessment was made taking into account the system behavior and the load history of the structure. It was shown that safety is guaranteed.
