As a basis for planning maintenance measures for an existing avalanche gallery, the avalanche effects were updated in accordance with FEDRO guideline 12007:2007 based on the SIA 269 standard for existing structures. Two options in SIA 269 were used to update design variables: 1) redetermination of the design values based on a risk-based determination of the target failure probability for the structure and 2) consideration of additional information to update the characteristic values.
