In this project, based on a research project, a guideline was developed as to how future risks in tunnels in the Swiss national road network are to be determined and how measures to increase safety are to be evaluated. Acceptance criteria are defined based on the ALARP principle. A comprehensive risk model is explained in the associated documentation, which also takes hazardous goods accidents and major fires into account and maps the consequences based on CFD simulations.
