For a tunnel system consisting of 7 tunnels, roundabouts and multi-storey car parks, a newly developed risk analysis for tunnel systems based on Bayesian networks and homogeneous segments was used for the first time. The risk for road users could be determined quantitatively and sufficient safety could be guaranteed by the project managers.
